Pretty...

A very pretty square for those participating in square exchanges, making comforghans or afghan square patterns. I have a huge bag of squares collected some 9 years ago when I was involved in exchanges. One day I might find time to make them into an afghan.

Where did Stitch Guide go?

So many people have been searching for Stitch Guide. It was owned by DRG which owns Annie's Attic. They have put everything together on one site.

Sitch Guide is now HERE

It is a pretty good resource for newbies with video for most stiches.

Winter so far

So far it has been an amzingly mild winter up here. We should be getting -30c and it is only -9c. It has been like this for weeks. Unfortunately that also means that we don't get much sunshine.

It is pretty easy to suffer with SAD in this situation. I sit under a OTT-Lite which I have been told helps. Really don't know it that is true but I need it on anyway as it is extremely dull in my office.

HAPPY NEW YEAR TO YOU ALL!

Shrugs really seem to be popular. Whilst going through blogs for the CP list, I came across this. It is a schematic which you could use for any size and any yarn/thread.  I began a Cocoon cardgian ages ago but never finished it....didn't like how the yarn was working out. It was far too stiff. I think these shrugs need a yarn with good drape.

Weather is warming up again so I am out in my garden now. We have SUCH a short growing season up here. If we don't get much rain (and we often don't) it can be that nothing actually reaches maturity. This year DH built me a little greenhouse so we are trying to grow early tomatoes. Fingers crossed....
